Amidst the chilly late December rush, my friend and I stumbled upon an Instagram page for a little coffee shop named,“Let’s Go Coffee” that was to open on Friday, Jan. 6. Piqued with curiosity, we decided to visit the shop and see if it could fill the shoes of another business: “Nowhere Coffee Co.” Nowhere Coffee was a hidden gem where many local residents spent their time studying, working, and savoring their drinks and treats, until the business left the Emmaus Triangle in 2024 following a dispute with the landlord. My friend and I had high expectations for Let’s Go Coffee, and it did not disappoint.
The cozy Emmaus shop had a modern feel with an open kitchen for customers to view the production of gluten-free baked goods. A merchandise corner awaits customers, neatly set and the array of house made syrups decorate the back counter. Students sit leisurely in the shop, quietly getting school work done while enjoying the ambiance of Emmaus’ new cafe.
Let’s Go Coffee started out of a trailer.
Mandy Siess, the owner of Let’s Go Coffee, started her business in 2023 out of a coffee trailer with a dream that was sparked during the COVID-19 shutdown in 2020. Siess has a strong foundation and is a firm believer that it is inspiring for women to dream big and know that they can manage a small business on their own. Siess was able to sell coffee via her trailer in Reading, Pennsylvania, working three days a week. With her own goals and assets, she was able to achieve opening a full time store in her town of residence, Emmaus. Being able to elevate her business from a small trailer to her own store in under two years is a huge accomplishment for Siess. She is passionate about creating all gluten-free food and syrups in house in their open style kitchen. Let’s Go Coffee is also building quite the presence on social media. Siess says in order to attract customers such as Emmaus locals who love to support small businesses, she uses social media.
“We look at social media as today’s billboard,” Siess said.
She and her husband manage the instagram account which includes short and entertaining reels, informative videos, and company updates. Seiss plans to continue to stay active on the @letsgocoffeeco Instagram.
Let’s Go Coffee has many goals set in place to ring in the new year. The biggest being to continue expanding their business. They hope to reach more people through social media, come out with new merchandise, and grow their marketing and networking. They also look to continue supporting and giving to their community, such as bringing breakfast to teachers at local schools. They want their cafe to feel comforting and welcoming for all people, a place to meet up with friends, do work, and make the space available for rent and to host gatherings.
Ultimately, what grabbed our attention was the cafe’s authenticity and uniqueness. The shop seems to operate on a more open level compared to the previous cafes we had visited. From the delicious gluten-free baked goods to the vanilla iced lattes, it is safe to say that this establishment should be on every Emmaus resident’s radar. Let’s Go Coffee is only a month into business, yet Siess and her employees are ensuring success for what is to come in the future.
