Emmaus High School’s production of “Mamma Mia!” earned 15 nominations for the 2025 school year, including Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical. Additionally, the production was recognized for individual performances, technical excellence, and ensemble work.
Senior Anna Chavolla-Ramirez received multiple nominations, including Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Donna Sheridan. She was also nominated for the Vic Kumma Award for Outstanding Solo Vocal Performance for her rendition of “Slipping Through My Fingers.”
“Gimme, Gimme, Gimme (A Man After Midnight)” was nominated for Outstanding Production Number, and “Dancing Queen,” performed by seniors Chavolla-Ramirez, Kyra Kelly, and Lila Schneider, earned a nomination for Outstanding Small Ensemble Performance. Schneider also received an individual nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a supporting role, as Tanya.
Additional acting nominations include senior Matthew McCambridge as Pepper with Outstanding Performance by a Male Ensemble Member, junior Charles Kenney as Sam Carmichael with Outstanding Featured Performance by an Actor, and senior Hannah Kern with Outstanding Featured Performance by an Actress, as Sophie Sheridan.
Behind the scenes, the production also received nominations for Outstanding Technical Design, Outstanding Stage Crew, and Outstanding Ensemble. Junior Alexa Ebeling received a nomination for Outstanding Technical Contribution by a Student.
Stage Manager Cecilia Ruyak received a nomination for the Lehigh Valley Live Student Achievement Award, which honors students for their contributions and talent.
The Freddy Awards official ceremony will be held at the State Theater Center for the Arts on May 22 at 7 p.m.
