So far, Emmaus High School sports have had a year to remember, with numerous award-winning performances, competitions, and moments this fall. Several teams won Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and District titles, as well as many individual athlete qualifications and awards.
The cheer team, along with its new coaching staff, performed well the entire season, helping excite and bring energy to students during football games.
The boys cross country team ran to a 16-1 record in the regular season and won the District XI meet, earning the team a trip to the PIAA state meet in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The victory came in spite of losses to Parkland during the regular season and in the EPC meet a week prior.
Girls cross country were district runners up and finished with a 16-1 record this year. Their performance at districts qualified them for the PIAA state meet, where senior Mady McCartney won the individual 3A state title.
The field hockey team added another storied season with a 27-1 record on their way to another state title. The team won the EPC and District titles, along with beating Central Bucks West to become PIAA 3A champions.
The football team played to achieve a 4-7 record this season. Senior Robert Edwards III made the EPC all-conference first team, while seniors Gavin Yartymyk and Brody McHugh, along with junior Mason Lenig, made the all-conference second team.

The co-ed golf team drove to a 14-2 record this season, along with the third overall place at districts. Athletes Evan Walters, Kyan Delong, and Alexis Teichman all qualified for the PIAA Individual Golf Championships at Penn State University.
Boys soccer battled to a 20-3-3 record during the fall regular season. In the postseason, they won the EPC title and were district runners-up.
Girls soccer completed their season with a 20-4 record. They won their district quarterfinal game against Freedom by a score of 1-0 before suffering a loss to Parkland in the semifinal game.
The girls tennis team made it to the district championship this year and finished as runners up.
Girls volleyball fought to a 30-6-2 record and won their first-ever EPC championship in a comeback against Bethlehem Catholic High School.
Looking forward to winter, the boys basketball team underwent changes to its coaching staff. History teacher Eric Luckenbill took over as varsity head coach from Jerald Brown. Luckenbill hopes to continue to help the team improve and notices how the players work hard and root for each other.
“My biggest goal is to improve every day and be a team that no one wants to play [against] by the end of the season,” Luckenbill said.
As the winter sports season begins, new teams, from basketball to wrestling, look to start their seasons off strong in search of new awards and accomplishments.
