EMMA GIVLER

Originally playing bocce for Brandywine Heights High School, Givler played bocce alongside students that were a part of the special education program there. While she was afraid of the backlash and stigma that unfortunately came from playing with them, she pushed those fears aside and made strong connections and lifelong friendships. From being “Most Valuable Player” (MVP) in her sophomore year at Brandywine to making it to Districts her freshman and junior year, Givler feels that every experience she’s had through bocce has been a gratifying one and she hopes more people get the chance to feel those experiences.
JACKSON KRAFT

Competing on the Lehigh Valley Lighting Mountain Bike Team which is run through the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), Kraft has been privileged enough to have a team that is able to cover most expenses that come with competitive cross country mountain biking. He’s extremely grateful for all the help he has been provided with and continues to thrive in events and races.
GRACE REMMEL

When wanting to learn more about boxing, 1COR6:19 FITNESS is the place to go. After being coached under Devon Swasey for seven years, Remmel has had a wonderful experience in boxing. While boxing is not directly listed on the website, contacting coaches like Swasey or his partner, Niki Swasey, can be beneficial as they can help those figure out if they would like to start boxing. For younger kids between ages 8-12, 1COR6:19 FITNESS hosts kids cardio boxing sessions while teens can shadow someone boxing (one must reach out) and learn that way. If teens are still interested after shadowing a boxer, officially joining 1COR6:19 FITNESS and taking boxing sessions might seem worthwhile.
MADISON MARTIN

While Martin plays for the New Jersey Colonials, other teams in or near Pennsylvania include the Hatfield Lady Patriots and the Philadelphia Junior Flyers. Martin brought up that the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Youth Program is a great way to get started in ice hockey, plus the bonus of being able to go to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms games. They have a “Learn to Skate” program and are having their Phantoms Youth Night on Friday, Dec. 19 at the PPL Center from 6-9 p.m.
