Logan Roth constructs his final project of the year: being the 2026 Lehigh Career Technological Institute [LCTI] speaker at graduation. As a LCTI student for the past two years, he has taken heavy equipment and preventative maintenance classes, and plans to continue his career in construction. This fall, Roth will attend Pennsylvania College of Technology, majoring in residential construction.
Outside of LCTI, Roth was a part of the Emmaus boys wrestling team for the last four years. After practicing the sport as a child, Roth decided to pick up wrestling again solely out of enjoyment.
Stinger: How did you balance having LCTI and wrestling?
Roth: It was easier with AM [LCTI] because I just go to my two classes, [get] dismissed, and go to wrestling practice. But with the PM [LCTI], it’s kind of tough because I’d come back like 10-15 minutes late in the practice, so I’d have to stay after a couple of days just to get extra work in, but it was not too much to juggle.
Stinger: What is your favorite memory from LCTI?
Roth: People, because you hang out with multiple people from multiple different schools, so you just get to see how different people act from where they are raised and stuff. It’s just cool, fun to see that.
Stinger: What impact do you think you left on underclassmen in the school?
Roth: I left more of an impact [at LCTI], just because there, it’s more hands-on. So you can teach your skills to underclassmen, and you can see how they work through your skills. A lot of the underclassmen I’ve tried [to] mentor. I can see some of the things they do is what I do, and I learned it from other upperclassmen, so it’s just passed down.
Stinger: Are you excited to do a speech [for graduation]?
Roth: I’m happy I got picked, but I don’t like speaking in front of people. It’s going to be rough, but I’m mostly doing it because it’s an opportunity that I can’t pass up. If I pass it up, I would be regretting it.
Stinger: Do you have any advice for underclassmen inspired to do LCTI?
Roth: Don’t go just to get out of high school because a lot of people do that, and then they don’t have fun. Really do look into it and see what you think you would have fun in, and then go for that.
