BREAKING: Emmaus makes history with double FREDDY win

The FREDDY Awards hosted its 24th annual awards ceremony on Thursday, May 21, which celebrates schools in the Northampton and Lehigh areas for their notable achievements in theater. The awards recognize varying aspects of the musical productions at different schools, ranging from behind the scenes to center stage. 

This year, Emmaus High School took home three awards for individual performances. Junior Abigail Holtz tied with Kensington Matol from Freedom High School for the award of Outstanding Featured Performance By An Actress. In addition to this accomplishment, Senior Charles Kenney made Emmaus history by obtaining both the Vic Kumma Award For Outstanding Solo Vocal Performance, as well as the award for Outstanding Performance By An Actor In A Leading Role. These achievements not only highlighted the school’s dedication to excellence but also the students’ talents and passion for theatre.

This is Kritha’s third year on The Stinger staff, and she is a junior. Kritha currently holds the position of Podcast Editor, and previously held the position of Deputy Editor of Arts and Culture. She is the Junior Vice President of the Student Government, and is also an active member of Hornet Ambassadors, New Student Mentors, and Club Med. In her free time, Kritha enjoys working at her parents’ restaurant, traveling, taking long walks, and hanging out with friends.

This is Kam’s fourth year on The Stinger. She’s a member of the National Honor Society, The Tattler, and the Bible Study club. She’s a photographer and loves photographing rodeos. Before becoming Layout Editor, Kam was Deputy Features Editor. She enjoys skiing, reading, hanging out with her cat, crafting, and drinking sweet tea.
